Answering "What" and "Why"

Recently, I've been pondering what and why I am building a software product. I spent a couple of hours without internet and a cell phone, introspecting my decisions and motivations. I'm using this blog to summarize my thoughts.

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.” - Steve Jobs

Specifically, I asked the following questions:

First, I will answer "What" and then "Why".

What

What is Agentor?

I didn't like the current state (2025) of AI Agent frameworks; most of them are built by companies and people who don't really interact with the end-users. Their API design is insanely similar to each other, as they end up racing and copying each other rather than innovating.

"AI Agent is not just LLM + Tool".

The existing frameworks didn't answer -

That's why I've started Agentor, with the core focus on making a great developer experience for building and deploying agents that are durable and truly multi-agent.

What is Celesto

Before answering "what is Celesto," I will answer what Celesto is NOT:

❌ A deployment platform for AI Agents -> MLOps platforms already exist
❌ All in one platform for Agentic system -> Lack of focus, more of lack of vision

Celesto AI is the central nervous system for a multi-agent system where hundreds of sub-agents live and interact with each other via various communication primitives (async, webhooks, sync), resulting in a proactive agent whose job is not to answer user input but to take a proactive approach to interaction.

Think of Jarvis as an AI Agent that is always on and listening to signals from sub-agents (who is at the door ? need to replace arc reactor?) and prioritizes the human-interaction inputs.

Why

Why should "I" be building Agentor (an AI Agent framework)

As a product builder, I deeply care about how a product looks, how users interact with it, the feedback they get from the system for right and wrong flows, and its intuitiveness.

For me, product is not only something with an UI. It can be a CLI, SDK, APIs or something physical like a robot. I tried building something like Agentor at my last company but the focus and the goal of the company didn't align with an OSS Agent framework. I realized that I was really obsessed with building an open-source agentic framework and that lead me to leave a well cushioned job in one of the best city of the world.

I have the vision, capability and the most important - I deeply care about building a AI Agent framework that developers love.

And I am going to build this!

My goal is to build the best framework for building a multi-agent system so that eventually anyone can build their own "Jarvis".

I'm driven by building an innovative product that people love and I strongly believe that this will make money will follow this product.

Why Celesto

I love AI, not since the boom (2022), I have been building toy robots since I was in class 5.

Back then I didn't have enough resources or guidance to realize what was possible. Today, I have resources, knowledge, and enough to survive on my own and take care of my beloved ones. This allows me to focus on the things I want to pursue.

I chose the name "Celesto," as I've always been intrigued by the universe and galaxies. It also denotes that the goal is not to have just an AI Agent platform. Celesto will be the central nervous system for AI Agents. The real Jarvis will be born on Celesto.

A lot more companies and enterprises will want to build systems like this, and by the time they realize it, Celesto will be the most sustainable way to build this.
